In Paphos there are hundreds of restaurants, taverns and other places where it is possible to try the Cyprian cuisine. Some of them for tourists are located on quay of Paphos, in others sit constantly local residents. All the restaurants are fully filled up with people in the evenings when the heat falls down and from the sea blows the pleasant breeze. In Paphos there are a lot of hotels, but even more cyprus villas. Each Cypriote aspires to have its own house. A lot of Englishmen with pleasure spend here their old ages. Rich tourists prefer expensive hotels and night clubs, tourists with a smaller prosperity - lodge in apartments and sit in pubs in the evenings. But all people are welcomed here. Cyprus it not only a place where are collected sets of historical monuments. But it is also something other. Cyprus certainly not Australia - but both islands have something in common. On Cyprus there are a lot of plants and animals which are only here. For example green turtle, the image of which is even on money. These turtles are very protected on the island. A soup from them you will not find in any of restaurants! In mountains Troodos, lives a mountain ram, but to see it is extremely difficult. More than 150 kinds of various feathery lives only on Cyprus. All this natural variety lives in the natural reserve near to a small village Polis, that is on the north of Cyprus. It is possible to go there from Paphos for example less than in an hour. For many years on Cyprus was built huge amount of villas and certainly it affects a condition of the island�s nature. But unfortunately the basic source of income is now tourism. And to it all is subordinated.
